What exactly am I buying for $39?
- A digital blueprint package: illustrated build plans, a costed parts list, filtration guidance, solar wiring notes and a maintenance manual. No hardware ships to you.
How much water will it make where I live?
- Humidity decides. Above 70% relative humidity a well-built unit approaches 60 gallons a day. Between 50% and 70% you get a comfortable family supply. Below 30% output drops sharply and overnight running works better.
Is the water safe to drink?
- Condensate passes through sediment, activated carbon and UV stages, which together handle the bacteria, parasites and taste issues. Follow the filter change intervals and keep the tank sealed and clean.
How long does the build take?
- Most people finish in one to three hours once the parts are on the bench. Sourcing parts is usually the longer job.
Do I need electrical or plumbing skills?
- No. The build uses hand tools and low-voltage wiring. If you can assemble flat-pack furniture and follow a diagram, you can build it.
Can it run without mains power?
- Yes. The guide covers a solar panel, charge controller and deep-cycle battery setup so the unit keeps producing during an outage.
What ongoing costs are there?
- Replacement filter media once or twice a year, a UV lamp roughly annually, and the small amount of electricity or solar capacity the fan and compressor use.
Will it work in an apartment?
- Yes, if you can place it where air actually moves — near a window or in an open room rather than inside a closed cupboard.
